The tiny city of Quanajuato is a tangle of maze-like alley ways draped upon slopes of a mountainous mining area. Walking with my camera I approached a public square up this vibrant pathway when I became transfixed by the lines and color of this place. It didn't work as a composition, though, since the opening between the walls opened to a glaring distraction of sunlight glare off the courtyard, plus it also lacked a compelling 'anchor' for the eye. I shot the image anyway. Later, I used Photoshop to re-position the walls, and eliminate this brilliant imperfection And I also added a point of interest- the chained chair which I borrowed from another shot I had taken in Puerta Vallarta...
Just the touch this composition demanded.
